The winners of the CONSAL (Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians) Outstanding Librarian Awards for the year 2015 announced at 3rd CONSAL XVI Executive Board Meeting and General Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand from 10-12 June 2015.

The panel of judges formed by CONSAL Executive Board assess each applicant according to the set criteria and selects one librarian for the Gold Award and few for Merit Awards.

The Gold award was presented to Professor Dr. Chutima Sacchanand of Thailand at the Awards Presentation Ceremony in the presence of leading professionals from the library and related organizations. 

RSCAO Advisor, Ms. Rashidah Begum bt. Fazal. Mohamed (Malaysia), Mr. Nyuyen Huy Chuong (Vietnam), Mr. Tulus Juni (Indonesia), Dr. Marilou Tadlip (Philippines), and the former RSCAO member, late Mr. Mohd Sharif Saad (Malaysia) were nominated as Silver Awardees.

CONSAL Outstanding Librarian Award aims at honouring professionals who has made significant contribution to the library profession, and for improving the relationship among libraries of the CONSAL member countries.  The library associations and national libraries of CONSAL member countries select and nominate one suitable candidate from each own country. The nominees must be a qualified librarian and a member of the national library association who is actively contributing to the advancement of librarianship in the respective CONSAL member country. The award recognizes the individual’s contributions made to the library profession.
