This is the first in a series of four virtual events presented by News Media, Digital Humanities, FAIFE, and CLM.  This event offers two speakers’ research into the concept of fake news and its impact in modern society.

The first lecture, by Philip Russell, is titled, “‘Stop, Think, Check’: Ireland’s Be Media Smart Campaign.”  The second lecture, by Giuseppe Vitiello, is titled, “Assessing the Promotion of Freedom of Expression and Free Access to Information in Libraries: Implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16.10 through the EBLIDA-NewsGuard Partnership.” A Question and Answer session will follow the talks.  Attendance is free, though we do request advanced registration.
