Adding Value for Parliamentarians

Sonia L’Heureux, Canadian Parliamentary Librarian, details how the Library of Parliament’s research service adds value for parliaments.  In a paper published in the Canadian Parliamentary Review, v. 36, no. 4, 2013, she summarized the establishment of the Library of Parliament of Canada and the value offered by the Library such as informed decision-making and customized analysis.  Sonia noted that “over the years many countries have been impressed by the services available to Canadian parliamentarians and have inquired about considerations to keep in mind when establishing similar services.”  As such, the paper included a section on the ingredients for success when developing a research service.  The full text of the paper is available at http://www.revparl.ca/english/issue.asp?param=217&art=1558.  A French version of the paper is available at http://www.revparl.ca/francais/issue.asp?param=217&art=1558
