Slides from the SWSIG / LIDASIG open session now available
Our Special Interest Group once again held a successful open session in Columbus, with a full room of participants to the open discussion. As usual we started with an introduction (slides available) including two special guests: Gordon Dunsire who reported on activities from the LIDATEC group, and Pedro Urra who introduced an inspiring digitisation project for the Cuban National Library's card catalogue.
We announced the upcoming change of name for the group : the former Semantic Web SIG (SWSIG) will become Linked Data SIG (LIDASIG). Astrid Verheusen was introduced as the new convenor of the SIG.
For the discussion, the audience broke up in 4 groups : linked data for beginners, bibliographic transition and standards, linked data in practice and implementation, future of the SIG. More exciting stuff to come in Poland in 2017 !
