M&M Member Dinesh Gupta wins 2010 Ranganathan-Kaula Award

Dr. Dinesh K Gupta, Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Library & Information Science, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota (Rajasthan) for having been selected for prestigious Ranganathan-Kaula Award  for the year 2010 in recognition of his yeoman services and meritorious activities to the Library profession.

Some of the notable achievements in his credit are: He is serving as a Member of the Standing Committee of IFLA Management and Marketing Section for the second term 2007-2011. He is also the Chair of the Jury of IFLA International Marketing Award after serving as Jury Member for the period 2003-2008. Dr. Dinesh has authored about 40 papers/ reviews published in peer review journals, conference proceedings and edited volumes, both at national and international levels. Some of his publications have appeared in: Information Outlook (SLA, USA), New Review of Life Long Learning (Graham Taylor, UK),  Library Administration (Howarth, USA, now Taylor & Francis), Science & Technology Libraries (Taylor & Francis), Information Service and Use (AOI Press), IFLA Journal, Marketing of Library Services (Info Today, USA), etc.

Dr. Dinesh Gupta’s contributions at Mahaveer Vardhman Open University include introduction of certain innovating and leading courses at MPhil in LIS level, such as, “Management Consultancy in Libraries” and “Self Management”, and also edited the University Newsletter ‘MEERA‘ for two years.Ranganathan-Kaula Award for the year 2010 presented to him on 10th March 2011 at Delhi Library Association, Delhi.
