Front page of IFLA's and AIB's submission to the Italian Universal Periodic ReviewIFLA and the Italian Library Association have submitted a contribution to the Unviersal Periodic Review of Italy, as organised by the Human Rights Council. This underlines the importance of access to information and education, and how libraries are necessary to deliver this.

As part of the Human Rights Council’s mandate to monitor the situation in its members, it carries out regular ‘Universal Periodic Reviews’.

These draw on input from experts, member states and NGOs (such as IFLA) in order to paint a picture of where things are going well and where action is necessary.

IFLA’s submission covers access to information and education, and the rights of people with disabilities, children, migrants and refugees.
